"My students inspire me because being a curious person, I love to try different methods and strategies to see how their learning can be successful!"
I'M ORIGINALLY FROM
I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan.
I MOVED TO LAKE HAVASU BECAUSE
Town size and the lakes; being from the great lakes state.
I have been a teacher since 1980, I began as an infant/toddler teacher and as my own daughter's grew, I attended college to be in the same school as them... I do have 5 teaching certificates starting in child development to high school consumer technical and I completed my Masters in Special Education.
PERSONAL INTERESTS AND/OR COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
A few personal interests are reading, singing, playing guitar ( fun simple children's songs), sewing, cooking (not baking), volleyball, Zumba dancing, lifting weights and riding my bike. In the realm of community involvement, I like to attend meetings from time to time to stay informed. I used to be the Easter Bunny for many years in a small Michigan town; the children were adorable and I'd consider that again:)
I WAS INSPIRED TO BE A TEACHER BECAUSE
I was inspired to be a teacher, because growing up I was a bit dyslexic; I struggled with reading as a child. Upon going to college I discovered that I loved to read! Throughout college I thought, "Oh my gosh, that's what they were trying to teach me; to find a love for information and knowledge!" There are many students that find reading burdensome and as a teacher I can motivate and encourage students to find the joy of reading, like I have.
