im originally from

I moved to Lake Havasu, Arizona from Peoria, Illinois at the age of 3.

I MOVED TO LAKE HAVASU BECAUSE

I love the wonderful sense of community we have in Lake Havasu City.  The desert and beautiful Colorado River offer exciting and inspirational opportunities for my family and I to explore.

YEARS TEACHING!

I have taught at Lake Havasu Unified School District for 4 years.

PERSONAL INTERESTS AND/OR COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

I love to hike our beautiful desert. My family and I enjoy water sports, long walks to our park and reading. I love to support our Smoketree School in the after school activities and my favorites to date are the Holiday Craft Night and the CAT TV club.

I WAS INSPIRED TO BE A TEACHER BECAUSE

I have learned from watching what excellent educators do to open doors and enable learning. My son was diagnosed with Autism at age 3 and has been a student of our district since that time.  My goal, inspired by these educators,  is to continue to open doors and offer every possibility for my students to excel in all aspects of life.

Dream classroom item: A sensory pod for the classroom

This pod would be mobile when movement happens throughout the years. Provide a multi-sensory room environment that can be easily placed inside regular population classrooms that have children with special needs that may need a safe space to "chill out" from time to time
