"My students inspire me to be someone they can look up to as a model for success."
I'M ORIGINALLY FROM
West Lafayette, OH (a small, farm factory town with 2400 residents)
I MOVED TO LAKE HAVASU BECAUSE
Mrs. Festa, a LHHS Vice-Principal, was a very appealing person to work for since she took interest in me as a human being rather than just a warm body to fill a math spot (many other interviewers were caring far more about the credential than the person)
2016-2017 is the first year
PERSONAL INTERESTS AND/OR COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Gaming theory, philosophy,
I WAS INSPIRED TO BE A TEACHER BECAUSE
I love math and virtually all good things in my life have come from the discipline and power it can provide. Math can provide a beauty in life that can never be seen without it, and that beauty makes up the fundamental mechanics of virtually every aspect of modern civilization.
Dream classroom item:
20 Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus Graphing CalculatorS
My dream classroom would have enough graphing calculators for all of my students! Algebra 3-4 involves numerous complex calculators and graphs. These calculations are made much easier through the use of graphing calculators. The price of these calculators put ownership out of reach for my families. To help level the playing field, we have some calculators the students may borrow during class. However, we do not have enough for every student to borrow a calculator.
