"It is so cool to see that "a-ha" look on their faces when they get it."

I'M ORIGINALLY FROM

I was born and raised in Takoma Park, Maryland. My mother's family has been there for several generations and she still lives in the house I grew up in.

I MOVED TO LAKE HAVASU BECAUSE

My husband and I vacationed here and bought property several years before we moved here. When he was medically retired, we decided to move to the place we loved to visit.

YEARS TEACHING!

I have been teaching for 10 years. (9 years at Havasupai and 1 year at Lake Havasu High School)

PERSONAL INTERESTS AND/OR COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

LHHS Cheer Coach, Hope Street Group Arizona Fellow, LHHS Wrestling Team, K12 Foundation Member. LHHS SIC, Love to travel and out of state & country, learning about historic sites and people from long ago.

I WAS INSPIRED TO BE A TEACHER BECAUSE

I am an avid reader! I love to spend all my spare time with my nose in a book, and a real old-fashioned kind that I can hold in my hand and turn the paper pages! Mr. Honchalk, Ms. Kursman, Mrs. Davies, Mr. Turner, Ms Desch, Mr. Frog (yes, really!), Mrs. Higgins, Ms. WIlliams, Mr. Stan, Ms. Diodati, and Mr. Allen are some of the teachers from second grade to high school who influenced me in the choice of making teaching my career choice.

chrome books and charging station

Students do not always have internet access outside of the classroom. Some do not have phones with unlimited access in the classroom, and some simple do not have phones at all.
